What is S-Video? How far it is better than composite video?

It is known as Separate Video, some people call it super video. It is analog video signal which carries brightness(Luminance) and color information(Chrominance) separately using two wires. Since the two color and luminance signals are separate the they offer higher quality video than composite video. But they are inferior to Component video.
